Design details of Yates A4, L4 and H4 cylinders:
- The Yates A4/L4/H4 cylinders head and cap are steel and machined to tight tolerances, providing proper piston/tube/piston rod/rod bearing alignment.
- The cylinder barrel is chrome-plated to prevent corrosion and smoothly finished to for minimal friction. The bronze rod cartridge is resistant to wear and supports the bearing.
- A strong cast iron piston offers shock protection.
- The chrome-plated case hardened piston rods are manufactured from 100,000 PSI minimum yield steel.
- Tie rods are pre-stressed, strong, roll-threaded and manufactured from 100,000 to 125,000 PSI minimum yield.
- Self-centering head cushions.
- Yates floating cap cushion offers large flow area and consistent cushioning.
- Precise cushion adjustment under pressure.
- Teflon tube seals tolerate temperatures up to 500°F and most hydraulic fluids.
- Standard NPT ports. SAE ports also available.
- Rods and Piston Seals:
- Nitrile U-cups with Teflon back-up rings are standard.
- High-temperature (400°F) resistant cast iron rings with Viton seals are optional.
- Special seals for low friction/high speed applications are also available.
- Rod wiper acts as secondary seal, keeping contaminants out of the cylinder.
